Wang beats Luttach in the Europe-Cup final

16:7 victory against ESC Luttach (ITA)

The Intercable Arena in Bruneck in South Tyrol – one of the most modern ice sports facilities in Europe – was the venue for this year’s Icestock Europe Cup for club teams. Following the successful staging of the European Youth and Junior Championships in March, ESC Luttach once again took on the organization of an international competition. 19 men’s and 16 women’s teams from seven nations took part in the most important event in Icestock for club teams.

In the men’s competition, ESV Union Ladler Wang from Austria won the Europe Cup for the first time. They defeated the Italian champions ESC Luttach 16:7 in the final. After winning the Champions League, the Austrians Patrick Solböck, Christian Hobl, Jakob Solböck, Markus and Wolfgang Karl achieved a “double” on the international stage in 2024.

Bronze went to the Europe Cup record holders EV Rottendorf/Seiwald (AUT) together with EC Moitzerlitz Regen (GER).

Patrick Solböck/Wang:

“My collection is complete. World champion, European champion and now all the titles at club level. I’m over the moon. We started the tournament well yesterday with just one defeat. Today we competed with Rottendorf, Sassbach and Luttach in the final against all the top European teams. My brother Jakob’s performance in particular was simply incredible today. He didn’t miss a single shot. The final went back and forth with mistakes on both sides, but we stayed focused until the end.”
