International Federation Icestocksport

The IFI (International Federation of Icestocksport), based in Zurich (SUI), is the highest federation for all disciplines of the Icestocksport. The IFI is responsible for organizing world and continental championships. On 12 July 2021, the IFI was recognised as an international federation by the Executive Board of the IOC in Tokyo and hopes to participate in the 2030 Olympic Games.

Team

Christian Lindner was elected President of the IFI at the 64th IFI Congress 2020 in Regen/Germany. He was previously President of the German Icestock Association (DESV). Together with Silke Bernardi (IFI Secretary General), the IFI Executive Committee and the IFI Board members, he manages the business and affairs of the IFI.

Members

The IFI currently has 46 member associations. The countries with the highest membership figures are Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. Nations such as India, Australia, Brazil, France and Canada are constantly developing. In African countries like Gabon, Kenya and Namibia, incredible efforts are also being made to promote the sport.

Continental Associations

In addition to the IFI, there are four continental federations. They are responsible for developing and promoting the sport of Icestock in the respective regions, including attracting new members, increasing participation, improving the level of competition and promoting fair play. In addition, they provide input and support for the organisation of IFI Icestock events in their respective areas.

IFI-Congress

The Congress is the highest authority of the IFI. The conduct of the Congress is governed by rules of procedure. Since 2004, an ordinary Congress has been held every two years.

Vision Icestock 2030

On 12 July 2021, the IFI was recognized as an international federation by the Executive Board of the IOC in Tokyo and is aiming to participate in the 2030 Olympic Games.
