4:2 victory in the final against Koeflach-Stadt
The men’s Champions League remains firmly in Austrian hands. After Jimmy Wien twice (2017 and 2018), St. Willibald (2019) and Wang (2021, 2023), the sixth Champions League title also goes to Austria. ESV Union Ladler Wang with Patrick Solboeck, Christian Hobl, Markus Karl, Jakob Solboeck and Wolfgang Karl wins for the third time in a row in the Stocksport arena in Klagenfurt (AUT).
Decision with the last shot
Koeflach-Stadt, the surprise team from Austria, wins the semi-final against the favourites from Voitsberg. Wang with a 4:0 semi-final victory against EC Neustift-Passau (GER). The final was exciting until the very end – the decision was only made in the very last turn. After a 3:3 draw in the first round, Wang won the second round 6:4. In the third round, it went back and forth with a better ending for Wang. They win the final 4:2.
The shared third place goes to EC Passau-Neustift (GER) and ESV SP Pongratz Kowald Voitsberg (AUT).
