World champions Italy are also European champions
After the preliminary round, the Italian women were still in third place behind Germany and Austria, but they once again proved their Page Play-Off qualities. They were able to record a victory against the German team in the first Page Play-Off. Austria then beat Slovenia. Germany then stopped the Austrian team and advanced to the final alongside Italy.
The final was extremely exciting. Italy got off to a perfect start. After the first game, they were already leading 10-4. Germany started nervously in front of their home crowd. With tireless fighting spirit, Germany fought its way back into the game. In the end, Sophia Enderle, Melanie Eder, Natalie Schwarz, Johanna Kamelger and Nicole Kühbacher finally won the final by a narrow margin of 14-12.
