First national training and development seminar with international support
Asunción, Paraguay – Icestock in Paraguay is taking another important step forward in its development. From 16 to 20 November 2026, Paraguay will host its first-ever national training and development seminar on Icestock. The event is designed to systematically establish and further develop training programmes in the country.
The seminar will have a special international dimension thanks to the participation of Marcia Reis from the Brazilian Icestock Sport Federation. As an international guest speaker, she will share her knowledge and experience of Icestock sport in Brazil and internationally and provide participants with valuable insights for the sport’s future development.
The International Federation of Icestocksport (IFI) will also play an active role in the event, thereby providing international support for the training initiative in Paraguay.
An important step for Icestock in Paraguay
With this first national seminar, Paraguay aims to establish a structured system of training and further education in Icestock. The focus is on teaching the fundamentals, developing sporting skills and building specialist knowledge among athletes, coaches, officials and other key personnel.
In addition to practical sporting activities, the rules, technique, training methods and the organisation of Icestock events are also set to play an important role. The aim is to create a solid long-term foundation upon which the sport of Icestock in Paraguay can continue to develop.
Access to international expertise is of particular importance for a young and developing Icestock nation. The seminar therefore offers not only the opportunity to acquire knowledge, but also to exchange experiences and strengthen links with international partners.
Brazil contributes international experience
Marcia Reis, an experienced representative of Brazilian Icestock, has been secured to take part in the seminar. In recent years, Brazil has become increasingly involved in the international development of ice stock sport and possesses valuable experience in establishing and developing the sport.
Her participation facilitates a direct transfer of knowledge between Brazil and Paraguay. This offers the Paraguayan participants the opportunity to benefit from the experiences of another South American country and to apply these to their own sporting and organisational contexts.
Exchange within South America is of particular importance in this context. Together, new structures can be established, experiences shared and further opportunities for the development of Icestock in the region created.
The IFI is also involved
An important component of the seminar will be the involvement of the International Federation of Icestock Sports (IFI). The IFI supports the initiative and, in doing so, aims to assist its member nations, particularly in establishing sustainable training structures.
This international support is not intended to be limited solely to imparting knowledge of the rules. Rather, the aim is to provide participants with a comprehensive insight into the international sport of Icestock whilst simultaneously strengthening links with international structures.
Training and knowledge transfer are crucial prerequisites for the sustainable development of the sport. The IFI therefore regards national training initiatives as a vital foundation for establishing Icestock in the long term, even in new and emerging member nations.
Working together for the future of Icestock sport
The seminar in Paraguay thus exemplifies the growing international cooperation within Icestock sport. Paraguay, Brazil and the IFI are pooling their experience and expertise to jointly facilitate the next stage of development.
This is not merely about a single training event. Rather, the seminar is intended to lay the foundation for ongoing training and further education in Paraguay.
Qualified coaches, dedicated officials and well-trained athletes form the basis for successful sporting development. The more knowledge that can be built up and passed on within the country itself, the more sustainable new structures can become.
Paraguay looks to the future with confidence
By organising its first national seminar, Paraguay is sending a clear signal for the future. The Paraguayan Icestock association aims to further expand its activities, attract new athletes to the sport and, at the same time, continuously improve the quality of training.
The participation of Marcia Reis from the Brazilian Federation, as well as the support provided by the IFI, underline the international nature of the event.
