Young talent, big vast expanses:
European Championships week in Inzell
From 3 to 7 March 2026, the European Ice Stock Sport community will be looking to Inzell. The renowned Max Aicher Arena will host both the 61st European Junior Championships and the open European Championships for all classes in the distance competition. This will once again make Inzell the venue for a major sporting event that combines tradition, the promotion of young talent and top performances.
At the European Junior Championships, the best young athletes in Europe will compete in the U16, U19 and U23 age groups. For many of them, this is the first international highlight of their careers – so their motivation, ambition and excitement are correspondingly high. For years, the title competitions have been regarded as an important benchmark and a springboard for future top performances in the adult sector.
At the same time, the open European Championships in the distance competition for all classes are on the programme. Here, experience meets youthful dynamism. Europe’s elite compete for medals and impressive distances at the highest international level. The distance competition promises to be once again highly exciting, as often just a few centimetres decide podium places and titles.
With its modern infrastructure and consistent ice conditions, the Max Aicher Arena offers ideal conditions for top sporting performances. Inzell has already proven itself many times in the past as a first-class host of international Ice Stock Sport events and enjoys an excellent reputation throughout Europe.
Experienced organisational team ensures optimal conditions
Overall organisational management is in the capable hands of Gottfried Schacherbauer, the event’s OC director. The former chairman of the organising club EC Freilassing-Hofham is considered an extremely experienced and meticulous organiser. His many years of experience in club and event management form a solid foundation for the smooth running of these demanding European Championships.
Schacherbauer is supported by his successor in the club, Andreas Pallauf, who is a committed member of the organising committee. The close cooperation between the two is symbolic of continuity and modern team spirit within EC Freilassing-Hofham.
In addition to the sporting events, spectators can look forward to a week full of excitement, fairness and international encounters. The European Championships in Inzell are not only about medals and records, but also about the sustainable development of Ice Stock-Sport and the promotion of young European talent.
With a professional organising team, a first-class sports venue and an attractive field of participants, the best conditions have been created to impressively showcase Ice Stock Sport in all its facets. Inzell can look forward to four days of top-class sport, excitement and international encounters.
