A historic event is looming: from 8 to 10 August 2025, the 1st European Youth U16 Championships in Icesstock will take place in Kühbach (Bavaria). This marks a historic moment for the International Federation Icestock – for the first time, talented young athletes under the age of 16 will compete at European level in an official title match.

The traditional facilities of the Kühbach Icestock-Club provide the perfect setting for this sporting highlight. With its experience in hosting national and international competitions, the region is well prepared to welcome athletes from all over Europe.

Focus on young talent

The U16 European Championships are not only intended to recognise the achievements of young athletes, but also to send an important signal for the future of Icestocksport. In disciplines such as target and team competitions, the young talents will demonstrate their skills – precision, concentration and team spirit are required.

Teams from up to ten nations are expected, including Germany, Austria, Italy, France and other countries with active youth programmes in Stocksport. Many of these nations have already celebrated great successes in the adult sector in the past – now the next generation wants to follow suit.

Organisation & supporting programme

The organiser, Kühbach, has set itself ambitious goals: in addition to a professional sporting programme, an extensive supporting programme is also planned for participants and visitors. The opening ceremony on Friday evening, a barbecue party and a youth exchange with music and games are intended to combine sporting competition with international friendship and exchange.

Goal: promoting young talent

With the U16 European Championships Icestocksport is sending a clear signal for the promotion of young talent. ‘It’s not just about medals, but about building a sporting community and ensuring the long-term preservation of our sport,’ said a spokesperson for the International Federation Icestocksport (IFI). The European Championships are to take place every year in future and become a fixture in the international calendar.

Spectators welcome

Spectators are warmly invited to Kühbach to support the young athletes. Admission is free – food and drink will be provided and a great atmosphere is guaranteed.
