Champions League 2025 with international stock sport elite returns to Klagenfurt
The European Stocksport Champions League (IFI) will return to Klagenfurt in 2025 – for the second time, following the successful premiere in October 2024. The best European ice and stocksport teams will once again compete for the coveted trophy at the stocksport facility in Klagenfurt (Villacher Straße 308).
Twelve women’s and sixteen men’s teams from seven countries (Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Lithuania) will compete from 26 to 28 September 2025.
The Kärnten regional association, under its president Herbert Brugger, has once again pulled out all the stops to offer club teams from all over Europe a world-class event – including attractive admission prices and local support.

Friday (26 September)
- From approx. 6.30 p.m.: Official opening by Provincial Governor Peter Kaiser and IFI President Christian Lindner, followed by a reception for teams and officials.
Saturday (27 September)
- From approx. 09:00 a.m.: Group matches for women and men (Groups A + B)
- From approx. 01.30 p.m.: Group matches for men (groups C + D)
- From approx. 01:30 p.m.: Group matches for women (group C)
Sunday (28 September)
- from approx. 08:30 a.m.: Women’s and men’s quarter-finals
- from approx. 10:30 a.m.: Women’s semi-finals
- from approx. 10:30 a.m.: Men’s semi-finals
- from approx. 01:00 p.m.: Women’s finals
- from approx. 03:00 p.m.: Men’s finals
- followed by: Award ceremonies
Participants & favourites
In its debut in 2024, GSC Liebenfels (women) was one of the top local teams and reached the semi-finals. The men’s team from the St. Peter/BaLu ice shooting league finished third in the preliminary round but was narrowly eliminated just before the quarter-finals.
Looking ahead to 2025, other Kärnten teams will be taking part this time, joined by further national champions. International favourites traditionally come from Austria, Germany and Italy, including top men’s teams such as ESV Union Ladler Wang, EV Rottendorf and TSV Hartpenning, as well as top women’s teams ESV Union Vornholz, TSV Peiting and TSV Kühbach, which already have experience in the European Cup.

Kärnten is using the platform to showcase itself as a top destination, with many young talents and club greats in the spotlight. The tournament offers both a national and international stage on which future stars can prove themselves.
In 2024, Provincial Governor Peter Kaiser, IFI President Lindner and association presidents such as Silvia Tschiltsch and Herbert Brugger praised the organisation and media presence of this event.
